I came to Intoxalock from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) where I was a Regional Executive Director covering the states of Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Workshop
Join MNCASA as we discuss how we can actualize the goals of the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) by improving the response and prevention of sexual violence. Together we will examine not only the PREA requirements but how those requirements can truly promote safety and healing. We will also discuss how partnerships with community-based advocacy services can be leveraged to respond to victims/survivors in custody, regardless of when and where they experienced sexual violence.
During this workshop, the facilitator will uplift how PREA can be implemented to increase safety and healing for incarcerated victims/survivors. Attendees will be able to describe the PREA requirements as they apply to community-based advocacy services and examine how private, safe, and confidential community-based advocacy services can be facilitated within confinement settings.
Presenter Bio: Ashley Sturz-Griffith As the Advocacy, Medical Forensic, and Prevention Program Manager, Ashley supports the amazing sexual violence advocates across the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MNCASA’s) membership to learn, connect, and grow.
